Delete your innit.social account

Delete your account in the app

Open Settings, choose Delete Account, unlock your device and enter your current Innit ID. The account is disabled immediately and permanently deleted after a 30-day recovery period. Sign in during those 30 days and choose Cancel Deletion if you change your mind.

If you cannot access the app, email admin@innit.social from the verified address linked to the account and include your Innit ID. Do not send a password, recovery key or verification code.

What we delete

Once confirmed, Innit disables normal access. During the 30-day recovery period, profile information, authentication methods, encryption keys and encrypted data remain protected so only the verified user can cancel deletion. When that period ends, Innit de-identifies the profile, removes authentication and private relationship data, retires Listings listings, removes public posts and schedules encrypted cloud objects for physical deletion, subject to the exceptions below.

You may also use the app's delete controls to remove individual messages, media, listings or other content without deleting your whole account where that control is available.

Encrypted messages and media

Permanent account deletion schedules encrypted media and recovery capsules owned by your account for deletion from Innit's private object storage and removes the server-side message state under your control, subject to the exceptions below. It may not remove content another participant is legally entitled to retain under the message deletion choice you used.

Information we may retain

We may retain the minimum information required for purchase records, fraud and abuse prevention, safety reports, disputes, tax, accounting or other legal obligations. Access is restricted and the information is retained only for the period required for that purpose.

When deletion is complete

After the 30-day recovery period, deletion cannot be reversed. We will confirm receipt of your request and tell you when it has been completed. If a legal or security requirement delays or limits deletion, we will explain what we can, unless the law prevents us from doing so.
